WINSTON-SALEM Jan. 23, 1954 - July 23, 2018 Kimberly (Kim) Wayne Phillips, 64, passed away Monday night, July 23rd, 2018, at his residence at The Oaks in Winston-Salem. He was born January 23, 1954 to George F. Phillips and Sarah Marie Dwiggins Phillips in Winston-Salem. Although being physically challenged with cerebral palsy, Kim led a very full life. He attended The Children's Center, Moore Elementary, Dalton Junior High, Mt. Tabor High School and R.J. Reynolds High School. He received his B.A. from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. While at Mt. Tabor and R.J. Reynolds high schools, Kim contributed to the success of the baseball teams as a statistician. He covered sports for the school newspaper while at St. Andrews. He also was statistician for College Park Baptist Church youth basketball for many years. Kim was an avid sports fan and attended many local minor league baseball games. He was a devoted Wake Forest Demon Deacon fan, a huge Los Angeles Dodgers fan, a loyal Carolina Panthers fan and a lover of all sports! Kim is survived by a brother George Phillips, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Park Baptist Church or The Children's Center for Exceptional Children in Winston-Salem. Online condolences may be made through www.salemfh.com.
